HEALTH HELP INTERNATIONAL
NEW GIFT AID REGULATIONS The latest gift aid regulations make it much easier to donate to Charity to reclaim income tax on that donation. From April 2000 the following rules apply:
The minimum limit of £250 for Gift
Aid Donations has been abolished.
The scheme will apply to any donation, whether large or small, regular
or one-off.
The requirement that donors must pay income tax at the basic rate equal
to the tax deducted from their donation has been removed.
Donors simply have to pay an amount of income tax or capital gains tax
equal to the tax deducted from their donations.
Donors are able to claim higher rate tax relief for their donations against
either income tax or capital gains tax.
